Food And Healing
Negative thinking and behaviors over prolonged periods can cause damage to our bodies.
Some examples would include:
• Gastrointestinal problems;
• Elevated blood pressure;
• Other heart-related issues;
• Muscle atrophy and back problems from poor posture; and
• Nutritional deficiencies from a poor diet.
All of these, if left unaddressed, have the potential to cause more severe and even deadly health issues. That is why the clients at Red Mountain Sedona (RMS) receive proper guidance on diet and nutrition.
We do not advocate a standard diet for all clients, nor is there a meal plan where everyone eats the same food. Rather, we educate our clients on nutrition and health, empowering them to do their own grocery shopping and cook their own meals.
This way, when clients are ready to launch, they have the knowledge and skills they need to maintain a healthy diet on their own.
Many studies have shown that nutrition is a key factor in reducing anxiety and depression, reducing cravings for substances, and even treating ADHD. At Red Mountain, we teach our clients how to eat right for the rest of their lives. Meal plans are discussed and executed by our Nutrition Coach, who teaches our students to prepare healthy food that tastes great!
Nutrition is one of the many tools we use to help our clients become as healthy as possible. When combined with exercise, yoga, meditation, and mindfulness, these components work synergistically to help our clients feel their best and enjoy every moment of every day.
At RMS, no detail of personal health is too small or insignificant to be ignored in our ongoing effort to help our clients achieve lifelong wellness.
